The Nigerian army had yesterday intercepted a Russian airplane on its way to chad with a large cache of AK47s and bullet proof vests, and even a helicopter
The Russian government has denied any association with the aircraft loaded with armed weapons.
In a series of tweets the Russian government said that the plane belonged to the French peacekeeping force.
The Embassy then said they are taking all measures to ensure the departure of the aircraft with the French military equipment on board.
Through its embassy tweeter handle, they wrote:“According to the information of the Embassy, the detained in Kano plane, allegedly carrying military hardware on board, is not Russian,” the Russia Embassy wrote.
