Suicide bomber dies in failed bomb attack in Gombe

A suicide bomber this evening blew himself up after a failed attempt to attack a military Checkpoint in the Kasuwar Mata area of Gombe state. According to residents of the area, the suicide bomber came on a motorcycle and was approaching some military men stationed at a search and stop around 6.30pm when the bomb strapped on him detonated, dismembering his body. Residents were said to have gathered his remains and set it on fire.
